Mr. Obama aimed to reach an agreement with S. Korea on revision of the
Korea-US FTA during G-20 meeting that ends tomorrow. But he failed to
achieve the goal. Trade negotiators from both parties have discussed
agenda set by the US according to a schedule also set by the US,
focusing on beef and auto.

Among others, NYTimes covers this story at
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/12/world/asia/12prexy.html

Reportedly, almost all of the demands of the US on auto were accepted
by Korea. What prevented the deal came from beef. The US sought a
fully opened Korean market for the US beef. But Korean government
denied this demand. The safety of American beef is so sensitive in
Korea that would jeopardize political life of Korean President and the
ruling party.

Both governments would not stop here and continue the negotiation to
find a way to make a deal.
