On Thursday, June 13, 2013, Professor Jeremy de Beer, of the University of
Ottawa¹s Faculty of Law, will present a comparative analysis of Monsanto v.
Bowman and a very similar 2004 decision of the Supreme Court of Canada,
Monsanto v. Schmeiser. These two decisions of North America¹s highest courts
affirm the results of a series of cases commenced by Monsanto against
farmers who plant its patented seeds without a licence in various different
circumstances.
