The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry is organizing a
conference on Impact of IP regime in Pharma post 2005 to evaluate the
Indian Patent Law in the context of encouraging innovation & IPR
protection to pharmaceutical products.  This conference which is going
to be held on 11 October at New Delhi has invited people not just from
industry but also from the government, IPR lawyers and even judges to
discuss and review different IP provisions like section 3(d), data
protection (data exclusivity), patent linkage, Compulsory Licensing
and several others. Check the link below for the details of the
conference:

Incidentally, this conference comes at a crucial time when Novartis is
arguing a case in Supreme Court challenging a part of India’s patent
law – Section 3(d). The next hearing of this case is scheduled for 17
October 2011.
