As you are all aware, Joseph DiMasi held a briefing and issued a press
release today announcing the result of the new Tufts study on the cost of
drug development. While DiMasi came out with the blockbuster figure of
$2.558 billion, what was not released was the actual full study.

Though making this figure public to industry and media sources to repeat
and proliferate, the full text and explanation of the analysis will not be
available to the public to read, review, assess, and rebut until next year.

The contact at the Center for this study informed us that "A detailed paper
has been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal, with publication expected in
2015. (Exact date will be available in early 2015.) Today’s materials are
available on our web site."
