[Ip-health] Draft schedule for Special 301 hearing

​Below is a copy of the schedule for the USTR public hearing on Special
301.   Couple of comments.   One, the hearing is 3.5 hours.  Each group
presenting comments gets 10 minutes.  Several major trade associations are
presenting, but there are some somewhat surprising omissions.  On the
right-holder side, the RIIA is not on the program, and neither is BIO.  The
GPha and CCIA, both generally opponents of excessive intellectual property
rights, are also not on the program.  The US library community is not
testifying, and indeed, only two NGOs that are generally critical of the US
trade policy direction on intellectual property will appear, KEI and UACT.

The Special 301 Hearing is open to the public.  All participants and
attendees will be requested to present a government-issued photo ID.
Please allow 20 minutes for security processing.  Members of the press are
welcome to attend.

Format:  Each party will appear for a maximum of ten (10) minutes.  Parties
will be allotted a maximum of seven (7) minutes for prepared statements.
Three (3) minutes will be allotted for questions presented by the Special
301 Committee.  The 10 minute time limit will be enforced, out of courtesy
for other witnesses and the public.
