How can the EU incentivize access to affordable medicines for all?
Building on the recommendations of the UN High-Level Panel on Access to Medicines

Following last year's adoption of the Council Conclusions on Strengthening the Balance in the Pharmaceutical Systems in the EU and its Member States,<http://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/press/press-releases/2016/06/17-epsco-conclusions-balance-pharmaceutical-system/> the European Parliament Working Group on innovation, access to medicines and poverty-related diseases has organized a panel discussion on access to affordable medicines for all.
Hosted by MEP Nessa Childers, chair of the European Parliament Working Group on innovation, access to medicines and poverty-related diseases, the panel aims to bridge discussions at the UN and EU level.  Panelists from the UN, civil society, the industry, EU Member States  and MEP's will discuss opportunities to follow up on the recommendations of the report of the UN High Level Panel Report on Access to Medicines<http://www.unsgaccessmeds.org/#homepage-1> and identify what steps can be taken at EU level to ensure access to affordable medicines for all.
