WHO and Costa Rica to outline new worldwide access initiative for COVID-19
WHO Department of Communications invites you to a Virtual Press Conference
today Friday, 15 May, during which WHO and Costa Rica will outline a new
worldwide access initiative for COVID-19 health technologies.
The first part of the WHO regular press briefing will host H.E. Carlos
Alvarado Quesada, President of Costa Rica, and H.E. Sebastián Piñera,
President of Chile.
Time: 1700 CEST (Geneva time) and we will update the time if necessary.
President Alvarado and Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General,
will preview a groundbreaking new mechanism to make COVID-19 vaccines,
medicines and other solutions to the pandemic accessible and available
worldwide. They will also announce the official launch of the initiative.
The pre-launch will include a call to all countries and relevant sectors to
join the effort so that effective health products against COVID-19 can be
deployed to everyone, everywhere at the same time.
