The Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary, University of London in collaboration with IQsensato presents:
Who Owns the Orphans? Traditional and Digital Property in Visual Art.

This a Side Event at the 18th Session of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Intergovenmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) and comprises three presentations on the legal, economic and social implications of orphan works and their exploitation.
The presentations will be an opportunity for the research team led by Prof. Uma Suthersanen of Queen Mary, University of London to present the findings and recommendations emerging from a project funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council. A photographic exhibition of art and cultural objects from New Zealand accompanies the event.
The event is open to the participants of the WIPO IGC and the public. Registration is not mandatory except for persons who do not have security badges who must register by sending their name and affiliation to info at iqsensato.org.
