[Ip-health] Drug Shortages Prompt Doctors, Societies to Consider Non-Profit Pharma Company

The Cancer Letter reported on plans being discussed in the oncology 
sector to create a non-profit pharmaceutical company  that would  
facilitate the production and/or importation of  the generic basics that 
are now is such  short supply that patient care is being seriously affected.

Planners of the initiative, called the Citizens Oncology Foundation, 
are  said to be exploring many  avenues to get support, including from 
ASCO and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which typically receive  major 
funding from Big Pharma.
