In light of the recent publication of the WHO CEWG report, readers of ip-health and a2k (who are participating in Forum 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa) may want to attend the following panel which will explore the idea of a binding international convention for R&D in the context of the WHO's IGWG's original mandate to secure "an enhanced and sustainable basis for needs-driven, essential health research and development relevant to diseases that disproportionately affect developing countries"

As you might recall, the CEWG report stated that "formal intergovernmental negotiations should begin for a binding global instrument for R&D and innovation for health."
