The 48 hours of action on the Novartis case continues in Basel,
Switzerland today:

As shareholders meet at the 2012 Novartis Annual General Meeting (AGM)
today (23 Feb 2012), they are hearing and watching the video messages
sent from across the world telling Novartis to stop its attack on
generic medicines and to drop its case against the Indian government
and its pro-health patent law.

As the protest in front of Novartis AGM in Basel continues, a few
quick updates from the ground:

1. Activists got an early start setting up video equipment, posters
and banners.

2. The place the police gave them to protest is right at the entrance
where the Novartis shareholders are walking in for the AGM

3. The video messages from across the world sent over the past week to
Act Up-Basel are being played on a large screen outside with a great
sound system - they can be heard inside the building where the AGM is
being held!

4. People are watching from the windows.

5. Novartis head, Vasella is reported to have mentioned Act Up Basel
during his AGM address saying they want to start a "dialogue"

6. Shareholders are coming and talking to the protestors - some very
nice, some extremely aggressive. Some are walking out to watch the
