The Union for the Public Domain (UPD) has received a grant to support
travel for civil society and academic experts to attend the remaining
negotiating round for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) to be
held in Auckland, New Zealand from December 3-12, 2012. The stakeholder
event will be hosted on Friday, December 7, 2012. The UPD Board has a
subcommittee of its board to solicit and review applications and to
allocate this funding. The grant will be used to support representatives
working on access to knowledge and access to medicines issues.

Selection criteria for the awards of these funds will be based on the
* Geographic diversity and representation, with preference given to
representatives from countries that are current negotiating or prospective
TPPA membership
* Area of expertise/substantive knowledge of the applicant
* Proven track record on issues covered by the TPPA
* Potential influence of the applicant

If you would like to apply for a travel grant for the New Zealand round,
please send an e-mail to <krista.cox at keionline.org> *with a proposed
budget*who will forward your information to the UPD selection

***Given the fast approaching round, including deadline for registration,
applicants are are encouraged to send their applications ASAP** *

Given the size of the travel grant and the number of meetings, UPD will
undoubtedly not be able to fund all of the applications.
