Dear colleagues and friends,
The online registration for the Humanitarian Congress Berlin closes on 18
October 2013.

The topic for this year’s Congress is “No Access! Who Cares? How to Reach
People in Need”.

The Congress will open with a special session dedicated to “Distant
Suffering - Visual Access to the War Zone - Humanitarian Imagery in the
Media” on Friday, 25 October 2013. This session is free of charge.

This year’s themes will cover humanitarian aid in refugee camps, poisoning
through extracting industries and the treatment of tuberculosis and
meningitis. Moreover, the debates will discuss mother and child healthcare
in danger zones, gaps in the global humanitarian system, and discuss if
drones and satellites are legitimate tools in humanitarian crises.

In the last years, with around 700 international participants and speakers,
the Humanitarian Congress Berlin established itself as an important forum
in the world of humanitarian aid. The Congress offers a unique mix of
medical and political panels, keynote speeches and debates as well as a
number of workshops covering recent developments in humanitarian

The Congress is complemented by a Humanitarian Forum where various
humanitarian organisations will present themselves, their projects,as well
as their structures, values and operations. Representatives from the
organisations will be present to answer questions.
