[Ip-health] The Medicines Patent Pool Publishes Achievements Report and Announces Ramp-up of Generic Manufacturing Network

Today, the MPP announced two new sub-licensees, Lupin and Strides Acrolab, to produce dolutegravir (DTG), a promising new HIV medicine the MPP licensed from ViiV Healthcare. Over the past year, the organisation has doubled its number of generic partners with fourteen companies now working on more than 50  medicine development products.

The MPP also published a Progress and Achievements Report outlining key activities and milestones of its first five years.  Founded by UNITAID in July, 2010 the organisation has made significant progress, signing voluntary licences on 12 priority antiretrovirals (ARVs) with six patent holders.
