On February 24, 2015 UACT testified at the USTR hearing for the Special 301
Review. The Special 301 Review and Report is USTR's annual assessment of
foreign countries' intellectual property policies and subsequent list of
(in their view) the worst IPR offenders.
Following the Special 301 Review hearing at USTR, UACT submitted
supplemental comments to USTR in order to address several comments and
questions posed to UACT during the Tuesday hearing. Among the topics
covered are USTR's approach towards countries' use of compulsory licenses,
the costs of R&D, and ensuring affordable access to cancer medicines.
UACT's supplemental comments and links to the initial written comments and
oral testimony can be accessed here: http://cancerunion.org/actions.html
